• Katie Marie Leatherwood

    Ministry Director

    Katie Marie Leatherwood is from Texas, USA. She is a certified Prosthetist and Orthotist (CPO) with a passion to share the love of Jesus Christ with people affected by disability. Using her knowledge in prosthetics, orthtoics, and disability awareness, Katie seeks to engage this community through physical intervention, emotional encouragement, and spiritual discipleship.

    After graduating from LeTourneau University in 2009, with a degree in Kinesiology (Exercise Science), Katie went to graduate school to study Prosthetics and Orthotics and earned a Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics (CPO). She worked full-time in the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics since 2009, before moving to Latvia in 2015.

    ‘'Prosthetics and orthotics has given me the foundation to impact people’s lives physically; Jesus has equipped me with the foundation to impact them spiritually. I am driven by the conviction that everyone in Latvia, regardless of ability or disability, is entitled to be introduced to Christ.”

  • David and Kristina Yarmoshik

    Ukrainian ministry leaders, Peer-Support

    David and Kristina Yarmoshik are serving in Latvia with Greater Europe Mission, sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

    With Designed to Live, they serve those affected by disability, empowering them physically, emotionally, and spiritually with the intentional demonstration of the love of Jesus Christ. David and Kristina are both prosthetic users, and through their own experiences, they share the Hope they have in Christ.

    Both from Ukraine, they serve Ukrainians living in Latvia through weekly worship services and outreaches. God uses their unique experience, culture, and story to make a great impact for Him in Latvia.

  • Ilvars Ieviņš

    Chaplain, Disability ministry coordinator

    Ilvars coordinates and leads various ministry projects and events related to people with disabilities and churches. The goal of these events is to promote understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities in churches and to help churches strengthen or initiate ministry to people with disabilities. Ilvars is always ready to listen, pray and encourage.

    Ilvars currently serves as a pastor at the Valmiera Baptist Church, and has also gained extensive experience in pedagogy, Christian counseling, and organizing various events and camps.
