EastPoint P&O is a Blessing to Latvia

Today I received the Trautman carver!! I want you the details of how God put everything together for me to get it to Latvia.

Back in August I submitted a post to the O&P list serve, a forum to ask O&P related questions to other practitioners around the country. My post stated that I am looking for a bench carver to be used on a mobile clinic and was looking for advice. I received many responses, with some good advice and some instructions to build my own.

A carver is a very important piece of equipment for prosthetic and orthotic fabrication and adjustments. It is used to grind, trim, and smooth the device. They are very expensive and not available in Latvia. Due to cost, I was considering the DIY version that had been suggested by a few people. That is until EastPoint Prosthetics and Orthotics from North Carolina contacted me.

EastPoint Prosthetics and Orthotics emailed me simply asking if I had gotten a carver yet. Not knowing the company or anyone associated with them, I replied that I was still considering options. They wanted to have a phone call with me to discuss the options and other things about a mobile clinic. Somewhat confused, I agreed and we set up a phone meeting.

During the call, they put me on speaker phone to ‘meet’ the other practitioners in the office. After asking a bit about my ministry and work in Latvia they told me, “We want to buy you a new carver and get it to Latvia for you!” I was shocked, amazed, humbled, and excited.

They are a Christian business that truly practices what they believe. I am so humbled for them to be so generous in providing such an important piece of equipment to a random girl in Latvia. WOW!!

God’s hand was on this arrangement from the beginning, and I believe he orchestrated our meeting and all the logistics involved. His provision is more than I can imagine. I am so thankful that He put the wonderful people of EastPoint Prosthetics and Orthotics in my life!! It was hand delivered today by Tommy Weathersbee, Chairman of Bridge Builders International.

This carver is stage 1 of what will become a Mobile O&P Care Unit!! It will be used to provide O&P devices to those that are affected with disability and would benefit from prosthetic or orthotic care but are unable to get access due to transportation or lack of qualification by government’s standards. Prosthetics and orthotics has given me the foundation to impact people’s lives physically; Jesus has equipped me with the foundation to impact them spiritually. I am driven by the conviction that everyone in Latvia, regardless of ability or disability, is entitled to be introduced to Christ.

THANK YOU EASTPOINT PROSTHETICS & ORTHOTICS!!!!
